Investigators with the state Fire Marshal's office sift through what's left of Robert Aitcheson home. The 51 year old Silverhill man died in this fire. His body found among the ash and debris.
"His body has been take to the Alabama Department of Forensic Science for autopsy. We'll investigate this along with the state fire marshal until we know exactly what happened," says Baldwin County Sheriff's Major Anthony Lowery.
The fire was called in at one o'clock this morning. By three o'clock, it was out and their worse fear confirmed.
"Neighbors down there called us about two o'clock this morning said the trailer was on fire. They said it sounded kind of like a transformer blew up." Dustin Nelson lives just down the road.
"It's kind of a scary thought knowing something like that could happen to you at any time. My prayers and thoughts go out to his family."
The far end of the burned out trailer was a bedroom, the middle section, a living room, that's where Aitcheson was found. How he died and why he couldn't get out are questions investigators hope to answer in the coming days.
