MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) - A ruling by a federal appeals court
means it will be at least August before former Alabama Gov. Don
Siegelman has to return to federal prison.
The 11th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals has granted Siegelman's
motion to delay returning his case to a lower court in Montgomery
until after the U.S. Supreme Court decides if it will hear the
former governor's appeal of his conviction in a government
corruption case.
The order says the former governor's case will not be returned
to Montgomery until Aug. 12 at the earliest.
Siegelman is currently out of prison on an appeal bond. His
attorney, Vince Kilborn, says the ruling means the former governor
will remain free for at least three months.

He is a good man and was a good governor. I hope he wins his appeal.

I resent the fact some news media refere to this “Convicted Felon” as “GOVERNER SIEGALMAN”!! He is NOT the governer, and should be stripped of the “EX-GOVERNER” title. He is a disgrace to Alabama. He should be in a federal prison doing his time, and I don’t mean a “MINIMUM SECURITY” facility either. A jury convicted this crook, and he needs to be in jail, just like Bernie Madoff. Heck, Micheal Vick did his time, didn’t he?

WOW He gets summer vacation just like the children. Now how is that right? He was the governer. WAS!!! He stole from people, he is a crook a theif, and liar. Maybe we should let those B’ham officers have a crack at him.

Sorry, But I think that sends the wrong message to other convicted criminals.Just because he was the Governor should not be a reason to show any special consideration to him.He is no better than anyone else.
