More than 1,500 people came to Bienville square for the 6th annual event. Volunteer Mobile organizes it. 20 teams prepared different varieties of outstanding shrimp dishes. Organizers hoped to raise more than $30,000 for volunteer Mobile. They say the event has a big impact on the local economy.“This is a natural resource from our gulf waters so we're really feel this has a lot of different levels of positive impact on our community,” says Volunteer Mobile Executive Director Diana Brinson.
Teams were judged on a variety of categories. Awards were also given for the most creative booth.
