Shoplifter Tries To Stab Loss Prevention Officer

Alabama Mobile  Mobile police say 61-year-old Sylvester Singleton shoplifted from the Home Depot on Montlimar Drive and then pulled out a knife when he was stopped by a loss prevention officer.

MOBILE, Alabama - A 61-year-old shoplifting suspect is accused of trying to stab a loss prevention officer.

Mobile police say Sylvester Singleton stole merchandise from the Home Depot on Montlimar Drive on May 11. When he was stopped by a loss prevention officer, police say Singleton pulled out a knife and tried to stab the officer.

Singleton took off in a minivan which police traced back to him. Singleton was arrested October 27th by the Coast Guard.

he probably had stolen fishing poles in his pants and got caught fishing without a liscenses.mobile police could not trace this guy down in five months?

That can’t be right. The Coast Guard? I never knew that they were part of the MPD.

Same kind of parenting that teaches 17 year olds to mug elderly people in a Church parking lot.

His defense lwayer will say that he was just trying to return a knife he borrowed while shopping - only that we know he was trying to return it to the loss prevention guy’s abdomen!

ignorance and stupidity reign in all ages in Mobile from pre-teen to elderly in the thug sub-category of the human race.  The desire to steal is strong. At 61, he should know better than to steal, then pull a weapon on security when caught.

Arrested by the Coast Guard??? No other info available I’m sure, since none was published, but that seems strange.
