BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) - Alabama's two Republican senators
appeared on two political TV talk shows to voice opposition to the
proposed bailout of three U.S. automakers.
Speaking on "Fox News Sunday," U.S. Sen. Richard Shelby, the
top Republican on the Senate Banking Committee, said he would not
support the package, which over the weekend was slimmed down from
$34 billion to $15 billion.
Shelby of Tuscaloosa calls it "a bridge loan to nowhere,"
adding: "This is a down payment on many billions to come."
Sen. Jeff Sessions of Mobile, appearing on "Face the Nation"
on CBS, said the new plan is better, but he remains skeptical.
Sessions suggested the Big Three pursue reorganization under
Chapter 11 bankruptcy.

bob your comment makes a lot of sense i wonder why it hasnt gotten more commentary, the other colum is really busy on the subject.

Since we don’t make $72/hour or get paid when we’re laid off, seems like good money after bad to me!  Boycott away!!

Keep it up Shelby and Sessions

None of this sounds right to me either.  Ford is still basically okay, according to Ford.

Chrysler is a private company owned by an investment company that has plenty of cash on hand, but they don’t want to invest in their own company.

And, it doesn’t sound like any amount of money will get GM back on track.

Maybe the unions should buy them out…...
