According to a report received by the Baldwin County Health Department on July 7, 2008, a sewer spill occurred on July 4, 2008 at 7:00 pm. The report stated that approximately 4000 gallons was spilled and contained in a parking lot. An estimated 200 gallons of sewage went into a storm drain which may have been discharged into the Little
Lagoon. The health department urges residents to exercise caution if using Little Lagoon
for recreational purposes. Also, thoroughly cook any fish or seafood caught near by and
wash hands after handling fish or seafood.
