A senior citizen saves a woman from a burning apartment building.
65 year old Connie Johnson sprang into action when she saw smoke coming from the South Haven Senior Living Complex.
"I saw that lady pounding on the window and the roof on fire I said not uh you coming out of there. So I put my fist through the screen and pulled that off and helped her get the window up and reached in got her pulled her through,"Said Johnson. Johnson says she did not even know the 65 year old woman's name until today. Still, she says she wouldn't hesitate to do it again.
While the cause of the fire is still unknown, fortunately everyone made it out safely. Five neighbors including Johnson were sent to USA Medical Center for smoke inhalation. One woman suffered burns on 10 percent of her legs.
Johnson says once she gets out the hospital she plans to start a collection for her neighbors who lost their apartments.
