An environmental investment may not be saving one Baldwin County business a bunch of money, but it's sending a message. Lulu's paid $15,000 for a wind turbine six months ago hoping it would generate enough energy to sell back power to Baldwin EMC. With only one turbine the General Manager for the Gulf Shore's restaurant says it is not possible. Lulu's doesn't plan to post another turbine to help cut their costs and make a profit.
They say the one they have now is going towards a greater cause."It's all about what you can do to save this beautiful land we live in and reduce our dependence on foreign oil,"Said Johnny Fisher, the G.M. at Lulu's.
Lulu's is also considering composting their food to reduce the amount of waste that goes into landfills.
Don’t Throw that Away!
