Mobile County Sheriff's Deputies rushed to Semmes Middle School this afternoon because a 12 year old student was burned. A sheriff's office spokesperson says two students were playing with a can of body spray inside the gym locker room. Someone used a lighter to ignite the fumes. The 12 year old boy has second degree burns from his waist to his neck. The sheriff's office says they do not know who used the lighter. It happened today before the last school bell rang. News 5 has a crew at the school and we will have more information on News 5 at 5:00 and 6:00. You can also check back here for more updates.

ok…what do we learn from this?  I’ll tell you.  We learn that maybe more time and energy should be spent on safety issues(lighters and flammable sprays) and less time should be spent on which shade of blue shirt your student is wearing today, or if their shirt is tucked in just right, or if the writting on their jacket is to big.
