Semmes Man Killed When His Truck Hit A Tree

Alabama Semmes  State Troopers say Joseph Phillips was going too fast when he went around a curve on Fire Tower Road near Gray Stone Drive in Semmes.

SEMMES, Alabama - State Troopers say 31-year-old Joseph Phillips was going too fast Tuesday night when he went around a curve on Fire Tower Road near Gray Stone Drive.

Phillips' 2002 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck went off the road, hit a concrete ditch and flipped. The cab of the truck hit a tree. Phillips was pronounced dead at the scene.

The crash is still under investigation by state troopers.

One day everyone will learn to slow the heck down on Fire Tower.

In the 6 years I lived at a house on those curves, I saw 10 accidents, people treat it like a drag strip.
