Section Of Old Shell Road Will Be Closed For 6-8 Weeks

Alabama Mobile The City of Mobile will close part of Old Shell Road to widen it between Schillinger and Hillcrest.

The City of Mobile will close a section of Old Shell Road on June 1 for six to eight weeks.

Old Shell between Schillinger Road and Alverson Road will be closed to traffic at 9:00 a.m. This is one phase of a widening project between Schillinger and Hillcrest.

Westbound traffic will be detoured to southbound Alverson, then west on Airport to Schillinger.

Cottage Hill at Schillinger west bound takes 5 light cycles to get thru. I see they’re planning, but still a long way off. The roads need to come before the subdivisions.

I’m glad too and I don’t even have to travel the road but on occasion.  Old Shell is in bad shape.  I know other bloggers will be happy about that too.
