The Mobile County Sheriff's Office has arrested a second suspect in the Thanksgiving Day murder of Edward Kelly.

Kelly's body was found lying in the middle of Baird Coxwell Road in Grand Bay.

Deputies arrested 26-year-old Courtney Chatmon Wednesday while he was working at C& G Boat Works.

Police say Chatmon and 26-year-old Douglas Hill murdered Kelly. They're also charged with the attempted murder of James Johnson who was shot six times the same day.

Deputies arrested Hill December 4th.

Ok, maybe new gun laws = less gun crime, but probably not less crime overall.

if we had no rights @ all to guns criminals would still have them. a knife is a weapon so should they make kitchen knives illegal? a baseball bat can be used as a weapon so let’s start using plastic air filled bats in baseball. a car can kill even if you are not speeding or driving recklessly. ignorance wants tougher gun control laws! GUNS DON’T KILL PEOPLE, PEOPLE KILL PEOPLE!!

the old laws obviously aren’t working… and a car isn’t a weapon until you use as one which is why you can’t make new laws to keep people from driving because of speeding… you can if they doing over 100 mph…you can take their license. a gun IS a weapon meant to kill, that is its ONLY use. if you are not in the military or a hunter, you have no use for it… if say it’s for protection…this is reason the thugs and dumb teenagers have easy access to guns because they take them from you.

4thekids35..New gun laws?  People are not obeying the old ones, why make new ones.  I can bet no thug has a license to carry one or even bought it legally.  Just like people don’t obey laws with speeding and so forth. Do we make new laws that people can’t drive cars just to prevent speeding? Well, it would be nice if some people were not allowed behind the wheel, but unfortunately that only comes after they have murdered someone due to stupidity.

4thekids35, people like this use stolen weapons! The gun laws you refer to will take the from the hands of the honest, then thugs like this will be the only ones to have them! Yeah, great idea!

like i have said before…NEW GUN LAWS=LESS CRIME…where did they get their guns??? who sold it to them???

Motive you ask?  uhh
1) Wanted an updated mug shot?
2) Needed a new crib?
3) Broke up with girlfriend and figured he could find another partner in jail that would be long term?
4) Wanted to see what a gun felt like without bullets in it?
5) Tired of working?
6) Bored on Thanksgiving Day?

They probably have no real reason like most thugs these days.

I say send them to the jail where the sheriff is not feeding his prisoners.

Motive?
