Bill Morgan owns 500 acres of land in the Perdido community in North Baldwin County.

"It ticks me off a good bit, yeah."

Morgan says he's fed up with the rash of arsons that has plagued this rural community for years.

"I kinda think it's ridiculous," says Morgan. "Something should be done about it but it doesn't seem like nobody can catch them."

Since Friday, at least six fires destroyed more than 200 acres of land near Interstate 65. The fires on Friday were so bad, I-65 was shut down for more than three hours. Fire investigators say the blazes were intentionally set.

"It's just a sad situation that people enjoy setting fires," says Jason Barrett. Barrett is a forest ranger with the Alabama Forestry Commission. "It's just unfortunate that we have arsonists in a community like that, that would continue to put people's houses and homes in danger."

Call the Arson Hotline if you have any information about the fires. A cash reward is available for information leading to an arrest.

The number is 1-800-222-2927.
