A blocked window is all you can see today after a shooting rampage, allegedly committed by this 44-year-old Ferrell Perdue. “Up in this area not much, nothing really goes on here, it's a quiet nice neighborhood,” says Laquetta Barron. She lives next door to the apartment where the shooting happened. Atmore police say the suspect forced his way into the apartment of his ex-girlfriend Alice Evans last night. Police say he smashed the front window with a child's bike and then opened fire. Authorities say Purdue's bullets killed Evan's 19-year-old daughter Marquetta Washington and seriously injured the girl's 26-year-old boyfriend Tony Hudson. While the police continue there investigation neighbors who live @ the apartment complex say they're shocked by what happened. Latasha White lives at McRae Apartments and is cousins with Laquetta Brown. White says she didn't know what to think Thursday night.
“I was terrified because at first I didn't know if it was at her apartment or someone else's because they said it happened downstairs, so I was like oh my God,” says White. The Atmore Police Department says they've called in help from the FBI, Alabama Bureau of Investigation and other agencies. Authorities say Purdue was last seen leaving the scene in a gray or silver Dodge Charger.
Update 9:25 pm: Atmore Police say one of the suspect's vehicles has been located. They found a 1987 Mercury that's owned by the suspect. Ferrell Perdue has not been found.
