INDIANAPOLIS (AP) - An Indiana money manager accused of trying to fake his death in a Florida plane crash has undergone a mentalevaluation to determine if he's competent to stand trial.
A federal judge was expected to be sent a report on Marcus Schrenker's competency by today.
Schrenker is being held in a Tallahassee correctional facility, pending an assessment of his competency to stand trial in a Florida
federal court.
Schrenker was arrested at a Florida campground in January, two days after he allegedly bailed out of his plane over Alabama to
flee personal and financial problems.
The plane crashed 200 miles away in Florida.
Schrenker faces federal charges in Florida and Indiana as well as a half-dozen lawsuits related to his alleged bilking of
investors out of hundreds of thousands of dollars.
