SPANISH FORT, Alabama - The organizers of Save Alabama PACT! are urging parents to attend tomorrow night's meeting.Three candidates for State Treasurer, George Wallace, Jr., Jeremy Sherer, and Charles Grimsley, will be there to answer questions about the future of the state's financially troubled Prepaid Affordable College Tuition plan.
PACT is quickly running out of money because investments are tumbling and tuition costs are rising. The board that oversees the plan is not sure how it will pay the tuition of all the 48,000 students currently enrolled in it.
The meeting is tomorrow night at 6:30 at the Spanish Fort United Methodist Fellowship Hall. For more information, call Wes Lambert at 251.458.9573.
