Teachers and faculty in Saraland are preparing for the first day of class. They're now apart of their own school district instead of the Mobile County Public School System.
Friday, they met to discuss any questions or concerns for the upcoming week.
Adams Middle School students and 9th grade students of Saraland High school will be attending class under one roof.
School principal Dr. Stephen North says they're ready.
The teachers are really excited about it. We're ready to get going. We've been cleaning, we've been counting books, we've been doing all kinds of things. We're ready to do the things that we were trained to do which is run the school and get children academically successful," said Principal Dr. Stephen North.
Dr. North says the big advantage of Saraland having its own school system is that financial resources will stay in Saraland and benefit the schools.
