Today was the last day to take advantage of the sales tax holiday in Alabama. I stopped by the Target in the Bel Air Mall Sunday evening to check out how the last day was going. Shoppers were sifting through piles of merchandise to find the stuff they need. Some just waited until the last minute.

"You never think about it until the last minute and then you're like, I have to buy school supplies, you just never think about it until the end,” says college student Denise Allen. She was among a handful of shoppers from Mississippi looking for school supplies this Sunday, August 09, 2009. I did another story on the sales tax holiday yesterday, focusing on teachers. If you can find a store still open, you have until midnight to take advantage of the event.
