The reason you do not see many women on this list is that it is a lot more common for the man to leave and NOT even want the kid, as opposed to the women. Yea there is women who do just as men do, but the odds are against the men here. Child support usually goes based on a certain % of the persons pay check and how much they are already contributing willingly. I knew a guy who had been buying ALL of his childs needs plus giving the mother about 75 bucks a week. Went to court and they ordered him to pay only 13 bucks a week. I absolutely hate women who have kids just to pick up a check, but don’t go around knocking on women who had kids and the daddy just didn’t want to step up to the plate.  Takes two to make babies, it SHOULD take two to take care of them as well.

Transporter, no offense but your message made no sense.

There are state laws about the number of kids workers can have on their roles. The numbers were determined in order to allow workers to have the time and ability to use resources. While I worked for DHR, I was the busiest I have ever been on a job other than working KP on a military base. I didn’t make an excuse, it is reality. The worst thing is knowing there is no answer for these kids. There were not potential foster care parents begging us for these kids. Have a good day.

to the person that said they worked for DHR. i am sorry you did but don’t give me a excuess of they are over worked, everyone that has a job is over worked. just like the other comment about the mother that owed money oh no we can’t go after them because it’s up too the man to support the mother and her living style, it’s just like some of these cases you see on tv when they order someone to pay 20,000 dollars a month who are we supporting then a kid or there mother, any idot can figure that out.

There probably are plenty of people out there that are foster parents for the money, but there are many more that do it to help the child. We took care of three and never took a penny and I’ve found most in DHR doing their jobs and really liked a few of them.We had the parents sign permanent guardianship to us and allowed visitation just about any time they could come.Worked really well for us and the kids and the parents seemed less stressed about it.Once they could prove to us that they were stable and responsible enough to us we signed the child back to the parents. We still check on them at least once a week, like a nosey neighbor, and so far so good.It seems to have been really worth the effort for the welfare of the children.Any way the bottom line is,there are people who do this for the child and not the money, lord knows there was times I wished I was being paid,so as to help pay for insurance for them and such.Never could get them on that “ALL KIDS” program. You always have that ten percent that will ride a horse into the dirt.

well its 230 sunday and not one of the people on the list has been arrested, maybe they are going to get them all after evening prayer service. 60 people have checked into the baldwin county hilton, two for contemtp of court but they look more like probation violations than child support. made a good story though and everyone that was current was good incentive to stay current. (Mine has BEEN done.) i almost WISH i paid child support agian, it was a lot cheaper than just calling for a new refrigerator or transmission for her car.

Yeah, one particular instance, all I had to do was say a name…they knew.Matter of fact, described the address before I could even get it out of my mouth.lol

RM, from personal/professional experience, we followed up. We took it seriously, and we at the very least let them know they were being watched. Social Work at DHR is much like LE. You get to where you know who is trouble and you keep your eye on them!

Speaking of fostercare parents…Have ya’ll heard that new ad for being a foster parent for a teen? I heard it for the first time yesterday, and I was LOL.

I have to say I have had a pretty good response from DHR. There have been a few people that I have reported, for concerns that I,as a nurse had. I have to say, they were always fairly prompt to call back and take the report. I can only hope someone followed up after that….

Transporter, I see plenty of trash on the streets. Those cig butts need to be picked up. Put the deadbeats to work scraping roadkill up and you will see some rims turned in for that back child support.

I worked for DHR. Believe me, it’s an industry. Did you see the roles of workers reduced when we cut out welfare benefits more than ten years ago? Nope. There are many who are overworked. When you have 20 kids on your caseload and have to problem solve like their parents were supposed to, you’d be in up to your neck in stress and lack of resources.

If you think you can do better, sign up to be fostercare parents and let’s see your success shine!

yeah i don’t see to many women on the list to be picked up. the biggest problem with this whole system is a certain state agency that we all know what it is. it self they are the biggest joke in the state and a state wasted agency just like the unemployment offices across the state. those people don’t give a darn they just watch there little clock and do there 8-hours and go home too there loser lives. one other thing when they pick up all these people and put them in jail, just how are they going to pay then, that’s right they are not going to be able to we the tax payer will be paying for them to sit in jail yeah us the tax payer. good job sheriff
