Richardson bought the pie with 9-thousand dollars of taxpayer money. Since you are paying for it, we really wanted to see what it looks like.
News 5's Tiffany Craig asked Richardson to show us the pie. He said no. "Do you have a picture? Do you have something? Let the record show that I am not stupid enough to preempt the public. If I show it to them today, they're not coming New Year's Eve. I'm not showing anything to anybody. They gotta come out and see it."
Tiffany pointed out that it was paid with tax dollars. Richardson responded by saying "I pay taxes, yeah. It's my money too!"
We know the 400+ pound pie is being built somewhere in Mobile but city officials won't say where!
Richardson says a real moon pie will also be at the celebration that will rival the current whopper in the Guinness Book of World Records!
