The Retro Television Network on Channel 5.3 is temporarily off the air.

RTN broadcasts classic TV shows like "Leave It To Beaver," "The Rockford Files," and “The Incredible Hulk."

Equity Media Holdings Corporation, the company that uplinked RTN to a satellite, has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection and is no in business. So RTN is now looking for another provider. This process is not expected to take more than a few days.

All I get on 5.3 is a blank screen. We were told RTN would be back in a few days but that was over a week ago.

RTN still off here, but is on air other places, the new web addy is myretrotv.com.  i miss it, much better than most other daytime programming, especially on the weekends.

WKRG’S foot print will actually shrink a few miles on the outmost parts of the foot print ie: parts of covington county, okaloosa county, choctow county, perry county, harrison county, monroe and conecuh.
RTN is carried by most cable companies that carry wkrg, at wkrg’s request.
RTN is still off as of 1/11/2009.

you could get it over the air, dont know abnout cble. if you have a new converter box or digital tv you could get it. jsut noticed it the past few days.

Why?  Did Mel get some new shoes?

Not sure about footprints, but soething is widening.  Found this on the Uncle Henry Blog.

That reminds me! Has anyone heard if WKRG is gonna change their broadcast foot print?

Yea! I believe we were getting it on digital over the air.Next month is gonna bring a lot more changes to over the air viewing.

HaHa! Yeah! I guess you’re right! Didn’t think about that.

Must be sorta like TVLand….. or WKRG on a weekend.  LOL

I think you only get it if you don’t have cable service and have an HD television. We never had it until we cut our cable off and now we have it. It was pretty cool to watch. Brought back memories from childhood.
