Carla Gray is a shopper who knows what she wants. She isn't about to pay more than she has to. Carla, like many shoppers, says she's cut the amount she's going to spend this season by half“With the economy the way it is I have to save,” says Carla. Making your way through the crowds at the Bell Air Mall you might be tempted to ask yourself if there really is a recession. Leeriness about the economy is affecting people's spending.
“Not real comfortable with a lot of businesses going out of business, people that have been in the economy for a long time that I've seen that's going out of business,” says Carla.
Not everyone is hurting. Manager Lori Chancey says they've been able to keep sales relatively stable this season.
“We've been having a lot of fun a lot of interaction with customers coming in so we're doing well,” says Chancy.
