BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) - Repossessing a car can be dangerous
work.

died just after 2 a.m.

WE have good laws in place, our justice system needs to enforce them.  As for laws for Alabama gun owner/purchase and such here is a link:
http://crime.about.com/od/gunlawsbystate/p/gunlaws_al.htm

You CANNOT carry a concealed weapon unless you are 21, so a 17 y/o or any other young men that carry them for “protection” are commiting a crime and our justice system should hold them accountable if they are arrested.

I agree we need some law changes as well. You should have to be 21 and a through background check all the way back through the teens and anyone caught with one under that having to serve some time which would lead to other penalties concerning guns.Anyone under that age hunting would be allowed to use a hunting weapon when accompanied by a parent or responsible adult within a reasonable distance of them.

Our good kids should not have to live in fear every time they go to the mall or even play basketball because somebody else gets mad and pulls out a gun! THE LAWS SUCK!

prayer back in school is a great idea and so is parenting your children better but, when that fails it comes down to the fact that it’s just too easy to get a gun (legal or otherwise).  the man who shot the repo guy for doing his job has probably gotten into some trouble before. he’ll spend life in prison where he’ll never drive again but,he didn’t think about that, because he’s an idiot. they have got to find a way to better regulate who can a buy a gun. My son is a 17 yr old honor roll student who said told me that if i don’t buy him a gun, he’ll buy one himself as soon as his birthday comes because he knows so many other young men that have guns(for protection, lol) and just waiting on somebody to say the wrong thing to them. so ,out of fear he wants one…i have to give him hour long lectures of the dangers of having a gun when you’re not mature enough to handle the consequences….he should not be allowed to own a gun at 18 if he doesn’t have a job that requires him to.

You have to ask yourself, is a replaceable material possession really worth taking a man’s life? I’m sorry, I CAN see killing someone for breaking in your home, I can see someone killing someone for harming or threatening to harm your family. I can NOT see or justify someone killing a man over a car. If he(the owner) was in the car, that’s a different story. The thing is, they don’t repo unless you don’t pay. This man knows he was behind on his car note. Usually it takes about 3-4 months before they come and get it(depending on finance company. BEFORE they just come and get it, they are going to call your house, your work, and your next of kin if available, 10 times a day or more begging for a payment. This man knew what was up, he just felt the need to be another idiot, and take a man’s life BECAUSE HE CAN, and owned a gun to do so! Now someone, somewhere is without a son, a brother, a father, and a daddy, cause he didn’t want to pay his bills. GREAT PLACE TO LIVE AIN’T IT?

I think we are missing the point…

It’s not HOW he was killed, but that he was killed. The owner of the car may have actually thought the man was stealing his car and trying to drive away with it.

GUNs are not the problem! people are the problem and it all starts at the home level. If parents would pay attention to their children and get them help when needed and spend some time with them,I Imagine 80% of these problems would disappear.I believe the root cause of the majority of these gun related and other crimes is directly related to parenting or the lack of.When parents don’t give guidance to their children they will pick it up where ever they can. They learn by example and there are plenty of bad examples out there on the streets.

GUNS DON’T KILL PEOPLE, PEOPLE KILL PEOPLE!
Years ago their were no gun laws & people didn’t just go around killing people for stupid stuff. why people do it now is because as a whole our culture has defaced the value of human life. Maybe if we brought prayer back into our schools, spent more time w/ our children, & taught our kids if you don’t work you don’t eat their would be a lot less crime! My friends grandpa told me something that makes sense. he said when i was a child you got beat for anything & their wasn’t no such thing as child abuse but their also wasn’t alot of crime. If we would discipline (I’m not talking abuse) our children instead of letting them rule the world our world we be a lot better!!! smile

maybe if every tom, dick, and jane couldn’t just go in a pawn shop by the age of 18 and buy a gun…maybe you should have to take a background test. Maybe if you got in a lot of fights in school, you shouldn’t be own a gun until you’re 25, maybe if you beat your wife, you shouldn’t qualify to own a gun… maybe if you’re credit is really bad…you shouldn’t be able to own a gun because you might wanna use it to rob a bank…the problem is that they don’t care about the state of mind of people buying guns because they’re making too much money off them.

well, let’s see, let me put my thinking cap on here…seriously, how can the gun laws be so great if a person like this was allowed to own one?? I have no idea what new law we need to implement razorsharp… but, i’d say the one’s have suck…because the crimes become more and more senseless…being shot over ipod, your new shoes, your car, or sometimes just wearing the wrong color in the wrong neighborhood…oh, or how about a football game, lol…the needs to be fixed. they are punishing the people who kill someone…but, by then, that person is dead and now we’re paying for idiot turned killer to eat all day, lift weights and play basketball.
