Friends of fallen officer Brandon Sigler are remembering him.Murphy High School Principal Doug Estle says Sigler was a bright student and a star athlete.
The Mobile Police officer graduated from Murphy High in 2001.
He then got a Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice from Faulker University in 2006.
His former high school football coach Jim Sudeiha says he is proud he got to play a part in Sigler's life.
"He was one of them that you knew would be successful in life and make something of himself,"Said Sudeiha.
"He was always more concerned about others than he was himself and that's who you want to be on the streets protecting it and taking care of our neighborhoods,"Said Principal Estle.
Brandon Sigler was supposed to close escrow on a new home Monday and get married in September. Sigler joined the police force in June 2007.
Visitation for officer Sigler will be held Friday from noon until 5:00pm at Radney Funeral Home in Mobile.
The funeral will be held Saturday at noon at St. Mary's Catholic Church on Lafayette Street.
