Mothers Day Remember Mama The annual luncheon is so mothers don’t have to spend today alone.

More than 200 ladies and mothers in Mobile got a special day. The 19th annual "I Remember Mama" luncheon was held at the Marriott hotel today, Sunday May 10, 2009. Our own Mel Showers was the master of ceremonies. The event is for woman who may not have anyone to spend mother's day with. Attendees got a special meal, goody bag, door prizes and a rose.

“We just want them to have a special day and this is an event to let them know how important they are and how much they are appreciated for all the wonderful things they have done,” says Chairperson Patsy Dow. Organizers say this is one of their largest "Remember Mama” events. The gathering was started so that no mother is lonely on Mother's Day.
