Looking for a way to cool off on hot summer days without breaking the bank?

Norma Giles with The Summerdale town council recently invited WKRG to visit the Summerdale Splash Park. She says it's 'lovely, extremely popular, and totally free."

Ciny Schulze enjoys taking her children to the park. She says, "oh, it's wonderful. my children are at the point to where they're stir crazy. So, you've gotta find something to do without spending a ton of money. So this is perfect for us and they love it".

Children entertain themselves for hours.

In Mobile, the water's right in Lake Drive Tricentennial Park. Rena Watson brings her nieces and nephew, and doesn't mind getting wet herself. "It's real nice out here. Even when it's hot out here. It's real nice. This water makes it so cool and relaxing", says Watson.

Whichever side of the bay you're on, kids are sure to have a great time. Grownups can sit back and relax, because the price is right. "Yeah..that too! That too! It's not costing you nothing. Just pack a little bag, a little sandwich and juice for them, a little water. it's good, plenty water, plenty water, says Watson.

For more fun in the sun, the city of Bay Minette also has a splash park.

Satsuma is the place to be June 27th. The Arts Council is holding it's first ever Children's Art in the Park Day. The event is free and will be held at Baldwin Square off old Highway 43. Children ages 2 to 12 are welcome.

Satsuma's Art in the Park starts at 2pm and runs until 5pm. Kids can make art, hear music and stories, and also get up close with fire trucks and ambulances.
