AFTER CHRISTMAS RECYCLING

Don’t add to the after Christmas garbage and trash problem piling up in Mobile - recycle after Christmas ….. and all year long!

Here are a few tips from Keep Mobile Beautiful on how to be a good after Christmas recycler. First, make sure you know what CAN and CANNOT be recycled.

Recyclable materials can be delivered to the Metro Recycling Center located at 1451 Government Street from 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. seven days a week.

Here is what you CAN bring in for recycling:
 Gift boxes and bags – boxes must be flat
 Wrapping and tissue paper
 Cards, envelopes and other paper goods
 Paper and cardboard packaging
 Corrugated cardboard boxes – boxes must be flat
 Styrofoam packing peanuts – securely packaged in a box or plastic bag
 Used cooking oil
Remember that ALL boxes MUST be flattened!

Here is what you CANNOT bring:
 No ribbon and bows
 No Mylar or Tyvec type wrapping material (material you can’t tear)
 No block Styrofoam
 No plastic/clamshell packaging from toys, tools, etc.
 No plastic or wax coated boxes, bags or cartons

Don’t add to the trash problem in Mobile - recycle your Christmas Tree!
Keep Mobile Beautiful is collecting old Christmas Trees now through January 7 at the following locations:

1. 2655 Dauphin Island Parkway – Parkway Plaza
2. 2501 Government Boulevard – in front of Food World
3. 4055 Cottage Hill west of Azalea – Wildwood Shopping Center
4. Airport at University – behind the BP Station
5. Airport at Schillinger – Westwood Plaza
6. Tillman’s Corner – Cloverleaf Plaza
7. Moffett at Forest Hill Drive – Park Forest Center
8. Saraland –Sears Essentials Shopping Center

Be a good recycler!

Before you turn your tree in for recycling REMEMBER –
~ remove all lights
~ ornaments
~ metal or plastic stand!

NO FLOCKED TREES WILL BE ACCEPTED.

THE LAST DAY TO TURN IN A TREE IS WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 7!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
