Loxley Police have arrested a man they say broke into a woman's house and raped her at knifepoint.

It happened around 3:30 Sunday morning in the Stapleton community. Police say 31-year old Charles Edward Raines entered the woman's home by removing a window air conditioning unit. The victim said he was wearing something covering his head and had a small knife.

Authorities say Raines left the scene on bicycle. Tracking dogs were able to track Raines down to a trailer park on Spring Road North.

According to Loxley Police, Raines was taken into custody without incident. He later confessed to the crime and said that he was sorry and needed help.

According to Loxley Police, Raines is in the Robertsdale City Jail charged with Burglary, Rape and Assault.
