The Eight Mile teenager charged with killing two people while racing pleaded not guilty.

Alexandria Martin was back in court Tuesday morning for her arraignment.

Prosecutors say the 16-year-old was driving over 100 miles per hour June 16th when she lost control of her car on Prine Road in Citronelle, rolling it multiple times. Three of the six people in the car were ejected. Two of them died.

During the arraignment, Martin's attorney John Beck filed a motion to dismiss the case entirely. The judge will hear that motion at a later date.

Beck told News 5 he has an accident reconstruction report that shows Martin could not have been going more than 60 miles per hour. Click here to read it.

NOt Guilty my ars!

What is the culpability of the parents who supplied the child with the bullet? Earlier this week, there was a story about a 16 y/o male teen who had a tracking device placed on his truck. The device was in place on a night that he had been caught driving to a drinking party. The parents all ready knew about this then they were told the rest of the story by the news team. Apparently, during the tracked time, the kid had traveled over 100MPH and gone to a location they did not approve. He denied the information and was angy at his parents and the news station. We were shown video of him driving after he was confronted. If I had caught my 16 y/o drinking and driving one of my vehicles, he would have been PUSHING that truck, not turning the keys in the ignition! Tell me the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree.

Part of the issue here is responsibility.  What are the parents responsibilities?  What are the kids responsibilities?  I’m tired of everyone viewing Alabama as a back water in-bred state.  No one seems to care about right or wrong any longer.  We are all to PC to say what needs to be said..  That one post clearly shows our failure as a society in Alabama.  This was written by someone roughly 15 years old and possibly older.  The rules of basic grammar are not that difficult and are taught to every child in school.  Yet some of the comments that have been written are pathetic.  Stand up people have some pride in your work.  Take responsibility for your actions and what you say.  Everyone is entitled to their own opinion you may not agree with mine.

civilguy00, yes they did.

usaengalum, oh my gosh, i can not believe you wrote that.

The courts do not allow prior bad acts to influence the decision of the jury.  But they do sway and change public opinion.  This daughter, What was her crime? I’m guessing at minimum truancy because clearly she did not attend school.  But she could be a huge Huckleberry Finn fan..
I will point out an irony here.  Per the hard-line rules approach that many of you have proposed.  Devon’s Aunt should be removed from this posting for not supervising what her daughters wrote.  I believe she stated that if she had her way Alex should die.  This is hateful and possibly threatening. WKRG clearly states their policy below and Devon’s mom accepted those terms when creating the account.  She should be held accountable as she is responsible for everything posted.

devon’s aunt , thanks for clearing that up.

Civil, if that’s true about the speeding ticket, I wonder about parents who gave her a set of car keys.

The post dated last night, if eveyone would read it correctly, would realize as it states that it is Devon’s cousin-my daughter. She has gotten into trouble with the law, been to jail, juvenile detention and 10 in a juvenile program for things she did when she was 12-14 yrs old. So, she definately feels this girl could and should pay for her crimes too.
