TILLMAN'S CORNER, Alabama - Their creativity and needlework are going to a good cause-- quilts for wounded warriors.

The women are members of First Baptist Tillman's Corner and the idea is truly a labor of love. The quilters are spending their own money and time to make the blankets for our servicemen and women.

Leila Ladnier came up with the idea because her entire life has been spent around the military. At least one person in every generation of her family has served the country.

Ladnier says every quilt will be about the size of a throw and big enough to drape over wheelchairs if necessary. Each blanket will have a verse from The Bible and Leila hopes it heals some wounds. "If they know we pieced it by hand, if they know loving people got together, I hope they get a little bit of love out of it."

If you would like to donate some fabric or your time to help the Quilts for Wounded Warriors program, call the church at (251) 661- 0114.

You can also to log on to their website at First Baptist Tillman's Corner.
