Dauphin Way United Methodist Church hosted a puppetry festival today, 8/15/2009. Students were given puppet lessons by a member of One Way Street. It's a ministry group that uses puppets to spread the Gospel. They say puppets let people tackle subjects that are sometimes tough to talk about.“You can relate with that puppet that is not real that hasn't really gone through the experience but you can still relate and tip toe around a difficult situation,” says puppet instructor Jason Hunnicutt. The amateur puppeteers were shown how to put on a puppet show and how to make them seem alive. Hunnicutt says you should always gear your show to the appropriate audience.
