Police hit the jackpot Tuesday in a major gambling bust. More than 25 places in Mobile County were raided, more than 120 illegal gambling machines were seized and at least a dozen people were arrested. The Mobile County District Attorney's Office, law enforcement agencies throughout the county and the Governor's Task Force on Illegal Gambling all took part in the bust. The D.A. says businesses that allow gambling have an unfair advantage over the competition, "what were trying to do is keep the playing field level, if you will, so that legitimate businesses can thrive," said Mobile County District Attorney, John Tyson Jr. Authorities haven't folded yet, they say more raids are in the cards.

Who remembers the SEC championship game between Alabama and Florida? If so, do you remember the bet between our Governor Riley and Florida’s Governor? I just wonder if Riley being the loser, sent the Dreamland ribs to the Governor of Florida. My point being; If our Gov. is deeply against gambling, why is he gambling?

Wait a minute, doesn’t the dog track constitute gambling? How about Bingo games, what’s the difference? If you’re going to shut one down, you better shut ‘em all down!Gamblings, gambling, same goes for raffle tickets, get over it!Find some these robbers and murderers in Mobile if you’re that bored!!!!

its all for show, they been here for years. tysons office did this about 7 years ago. someone said a friend of his husband lost money in one and his wife got mad and complained. they need to shut down the dog track and put in casinos and lottery.

they should look into the Bayou La Batre and Irvington area I could tell you about 4 places that have them…

Rosie that is so true… ok so these machines do they have a pay out ?? Just curious?  Legalize gambling in Alabama!

I was told the Main Event was hit also, I agree with legalizing them, then we would be able to keep all the schools open and HIRE MORE TEACHERS.  Fact is a drunk is gonna drink, a smoker is gonna smoke and a GAMBLER IS GONNA GAMBLE!!

Did they remove them from the Main Event?

Legalize them and put them at the dog track,Victoryland dog track in montgomery has them ,the casino in atmore has them ,DUH -collect a tax on them and maybe just maybe we can pay a school teachers salary or even help pay mr.tyson’s salary .So now he will have time to go after the criminals like the murders, rapists and dope dealers.

I certainly agree they need road blocks and something needs to be done about the drunk drivers, I was hit head on by a drunk driver 1 1/2 years ago who was going down the WRONG SIDE OF HWY 90 being chased by the police.  Guess what happened to him, NOTHING not even a ticket and he was out of the ER before I was, he had no insurance, no legal id NOTHING

i love the abc board. they do a great job. i can see why they need roadblocks. but this is just tyson wanting pr., coin pushers are against the law and i have never seen him send the troops in to raid the fair and i have sure seen them.
