7:00 p.m.- The remains have been removed from what D.A. John Tyson called "a grave."
6:37 p.m.
- Mobile police say around 8:00 a.m., they received a report of a body buried at a home in the 2400 block of Vaughn Drive North.
- Homicide detectives called in the Crime Scene Unit, Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences, and members of the University of West Florida Forensic Anthropology Unit to begin excavation.
- During the excavation, human remains were discovered. The remains will be taken to the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences.
5:30 p.m.
Mobile police and a team of archaeologists from the University of West Florida are in the process of excavating a body found buried behind a home Vaughn Drive near Dog River.
District Attorney John Tyson says its too early to identify the body, but they are treating the case as a homicide.
