My husband being a police officer would have nothing to do with you and your friends riding road bikes on the road. You brought you comment about your incident with a police officer and your adult friends riding bikes on the road. I was talking about young kids riding bikes unsupervised where cars are constantly coming through. So sorry you are still not grasping the conversation. However, I am sure you will have something else to say to try to make it look like you are.

It could be possible that the cop was worried about you and your friends safety. Because even though you felt you were being safe the drivers here are not always as safe or courteous. Anyway that comment has nothing to do with the subject at hand. But, you go ahead and pretend you know what I am talking about. Because I never made a statement about adult cyclist, only about young kids.

Your husband must be that cop that told my cycling buddies and I to get on the sidewalk.

Will you tell him that road bikes can’t handle the crappy sidewalks of midtown, nor can they make it up and down the curbs every 20 feet?

Thanks.

Yeah that happens a lot. People get the insurance for just a while to get them off their cases and then they drop it. They are usually the ones that end up causing wrecks and leaving the other in the dust. It is an aggravating situation to be in, but happens much to often.

Do you think that has not been done already??? My husband is a police officer. However, kids and parents will continue to do this when they think police are not looking. It takes that split second decision for bad things to happen. These children are not my children so it is not my job to parent them. I have my own daughter to tend to in which I do not let wonder around unsupervised. So again unless you know what you are talking about I think it might be wise to take your own advice. Because in all reality you are the one who is coming off as the immature. Again another example of someone jumping into a conversation acting like they know everything without facts.

If you really care about the well-being of these children, call the police and report them for riding without helmets in the street…otherwise shut up, because all you care about is complaining.

There was no problem. I stay insured regardless. I gave them the info. I’m paid up til November. Just haven’t seen this before.

Alabama requires insurance, all too many people would go get insurance for the month of renewal or registration then they would drop the insurance.  The letters allows the state to randomly choose people to send letters to enabling them to verify they have insurance at a random time of the year.  I received one several months after I sold a vehicle, so I had to prove I had sold it so they wouldn’t fine me.  This IMO is the best way to stop people from buying one months worth then letting it lapse after they renew tags.  If you have ever been hit by a person without insurance you would appreciate the states attempt at ensuring all people have insurance.

No. I have not gotten one or heard about anyone else getting one. Do you have insurance on your car or gotten a ticket about anytime in the past? Or was it a creepy letter with a picture of your car saying, “Proof of insurance or else!,” j/k.
