Dozens of dogs are looking for a good home. Members of the Mobile County Animal Shelter held a pet adoption today, May 16th 2009. It's their first weekend adoption since opening their new shelter building. 35 dogs and 15 cats were all looking for homes. Organizers say the weekend event is an experiment for the shelter.“There have been numerous calls for us to be open on Saturdays because we're open Monday through Friday so we're giving so we're giving the public an opportunity to come in on the weekend,” says Shelter worker LaTonya Matthews. All pets from the shelter get spayed or neutered free of charge. The shelter's also looking for more volunteers to help with the workload.
