Daphne police have named a "person of interest" in the Brianna Parish murder case.

Police say 43-year-old Troy MacDonald is the last person who was seen with Parish Tuesday night, the night she vanished from the Bay House Pub on Highway 98.

Parish's body was found Friday at a nearby sewage treatment plant. She was naked from the waist down. Police say reports of a bag over her head are not true.

Parish's purse, wallet, cell phone and car keys are all missing.

I was reading earlier that the Reno cops arrested someone in the rape and murder of Brianna Dennison.  The report says that DNA swabs were taken from the guy and it would take about 11 days to get the results back.  What’s the hold up with Daphne?

It’s been too long.

What is going on? Cause of death?
Any DNA evidence reports?
Was Troy alone?

You have a 43 year old male and 21 year old female. It is so very easy to manipulate young women. Especially at the bar scene and the involvement of drugs and alcohol. This man followed this girl from a bar in fairhope to a bar in Daphne with intentions of having sex with her. He admits he tried to persuade her to go home with him after sitting in his car for 30 minutes. Then he let her go.(as if she was being held against her will)
Why would she sit in his car that long with friends waiting for her inside the bar she never entered that night? She would have called and informed her friends where she was.
After being rejected he(Troy) went into a rage then raped and killed her. He was familar with the the place her body was found because he worked there. This is Daphne we’re talking about. What are the chances that someone else abducted her after she was with this “person of interest”? Troy knows something and he’s not telling

Benson, thank you for supporting the fact that his family is being harassed. Even though no charges have been filed, I promise you that the are being harassed. They are good people. As much as you or the next guy do not think Troy is, that has nothing to do with these innocent kids, mother, and family. Their lives have now been tarnished. Which is painful to see. This is a sad sad situation all the way around ... I pray for them all ... on both side’s of the fence.

Slander is not a crime if the statement is true.  With regards to a lawsuit, if Troy is vindicated, he must show damages in order to have a case.  What is somewhat unique here is that the police not only released his name, but also implicated him in illegal behavior such as drugs.  Similarly to Bri, that information was damaging and was a specific accusation for the world to see.  By releasing his name, the dpd opened the door to supposed harrasment of his family and and onslaught of press to his ex wife and mother.  If there was harrasment, reports need to be made.  Also, Troy has been suspended from work indefinately, probably without pay.  That is a bona fide damage as well.  Basically, if he is vindicated, he will have to move to Utah or somewhere and start over.  Fortunately, the constitution provides protections for much of this.  Quite…they don’t know what that is in Daphne.  However, Troy also brought a lot of this on himself by his factual behavior that evening.

southernbell, no police should release more evidence that is a myth about comprimising their case.  they can release more like cause of death etc. like was she shot, there could be a gun somewhere.

Yep…and thats a shame too..because after all..those dead guys had nobody looking out for their best interest.

The whole confession that 8 year old kid in Arizona made after blowing away his dad and his dad’s friend will not make it into court, because he had no lawyer or anyone else to look out for his best interest.

These days you d@mn near need a lawyer if you are stopped for an expired license plate.

Slander…..give me a break..if that were the case…every politician would be sued by other politicians…...LOLOLOLOLOL….

Oh wait…..most of it is true!!!!LOLOLOLOLOL

Common sense…

If you are named a person of interest in a homicide case - you get a lawyer period!

Regardless of the reputation of a county or municipal legal system, you don’t walk, don’t collect $200, you run to a lawyer and don’t say anything.  At that point, guilty or not, 12 people stand between you and lethal injection.
