Plenty of people in the south part of Mobile County were talking about Lam Luong's guilty plea Thursday.
One person in particular knows Luong and the mother of the four children killed when police say they were thrown from the Dauphin Island Bridge.
Reverend Phillip Vo said he visited the children's mother after hearing what happened in court.
Reverend Vo said, "That (the plea) was a surprise. I know it is surprising to the mother, too. She wanted to get all that done and move on with her life and concentrate on her life instead. It just keeps bringing the pain back."
Roland McRae owns the Cedar Point Pier across the road from where people have set up a memorial to the children.
He said, "I'm glad he (Luong) did that as far as pleading. I'd say at least five, six, seven times a week people still stop (at the memorial) and you can tell they're meditating."
From Dauphin Island to Bayou La Batre, people are talking about Luong's decision.
We met Catherine Rhodes on the pier.
She said, "I'm really not surprised. In a sense, I'm kind of glad that he admitted it."
In Bayou La Batre, Doug Anderson said Luong "should have pleaded guilty to that a long time ago."
Jeffrey Godsey said, "Whatever they do to him, they need to go ahead and do it all the way."
Another man said, "They ought to just take him and hang him off the bridge, too."
Reverend Vo said he now has another mission.
He said, "I would like to have a chance to go visit with Lam. We all have to get forgiveness from God and the people we hurt. I hope that he comes to that conclusion."

Forgiveness? Why or how could anyone forgive a man for such a horrilbe thing? There’s no words to express what I think would be sufficent punishment! Lethal or electric chair is still to easy for this thing thats supposed to be a human.  He must be scared of what he will go through in prison since he’s asking for the death penalty! “I’ve wanted to die since the day my children did” if he was a sincere person he would have jumped behind them.
