MOBILE, Alabama - Plenty of people in the Mobile area and around the country watched President Obama's address to Congress on health care reform Wednesday night.
Mobile Attorney Henry Brewster was among those watching the speech at a viewing party.
Brewster said, "I think he's doing what Americans have been asking for, and that's to get the specifics of the plan and to set to rest the wild claims that have been made about it. He's setting the record straight."
Mobile County Republican Party Executive Terry Lathan watched the President's speech from her home.
Lathan said, "What I saw was basically the same thing he's been saying. He endorsed the government mandate. He endorsed something he called 'chipping in,' which is a code work for taxes."
When asked about a government or public option for people who need insurance, Brewster said, "I think it will actually lower insurance costs for everybody. The VA is a government plan. Even Congress's insurance plan is a public option."
Lathan said, "America is a great nation and we should absolutely take care of them, but there is a difference between reform and reassembling one-sixth of your economy."

Most intelligent people know that the government will do what they want with this no matter what we think about it.  They ask our opinions, but it is just for show.  Whatever finally comes of this, everyone knows that the taxpayers will be saddled with paying the bill so that it gets taken off of the government’s back. The biggest problem that I see (and many others as well) is that there are way too many freeloaders and deadbeats receiving a living off of the government now that do not deserve it and are quite capable of supporting themselves. The government needs to look real close at this fraud and force these people to go to work and be responsible for their own living. JMO

The House Whip says they do not have the votes to pass the bill.  So, this thing still has a long way to go before it is a done deal.

The more people hear about this bill the more they do not trust it.  Also, when the president looks straight into the camera and says this thing will not add a dime to the deficit, while all along the Congressional Budget Office says it will add $220 billion dollars, people have a hard time reconciling those things.

Take a look at the AP fact-check:

My thing is this,President Obama is our president now.And “NO” I do not always agree with his decisions, but it does not matter what I think or no one else,If the bill pass, then What? Then its a done deal!

Of course, the way Bush was treated by the Democrats over the past 8 years do not count, right?  The multiple times Harry Reid, Senate Majority Leader called Bush a liar and a loser didn’t count either, right?

I did not care for Wilson’s outburst last night, but let’s not pretend this is something new.  Plus, the Associated Press fact checked Obama’s speech and found a litany of falsehoods.

Go big red and read. Norway has flat rate 35% tax That pays for health.dental, vision, life insurance, social security, retirement, pension, and
all government expenses. As a matter of fact they get to spend all of the 65% on the pursuit of happiness. Chinese are the healthiest people in the world. “READ” They have the lowest health cost in the world. I’m die hard AMERICAN. I own a harley and a chevy and with my limited amount of inteligence know ours is not the best in some ways. he?>; in a lot of ways. Check out some countries with different scenarios for yourself and stop lettin somebody else tell you how it is.

I think that all the people that has negative words or thoughts to say about our president, should leave the man alone, and let him do his job.He has a harder job as it is trying to fix the mess that Bush left behind. And for that gentleman that outburst about President Obama lying, should be punished like everybody else would have been.

Insurance is the roadblock. Why don’t we take “Insurance” out of the Health Care System? Instead of everyone paying insurance companies, have Universal Health Care without the middle man making enormous profits. Everyone seems to be operating under the assumption that “Insurance” is a necessary, irrevocable evil.

A big part of the problem is that there is not “A” bill to read.  There are multiple bills at various stages in the House and Senate.  Bits and pieces of each of them should scare the pants off of most people.

Has anybody read the bill or are they gonna believe the lies, lies, lies. President Obama said,“the hospitals, doctors and pharmacy companies are all in approval of the bill”.  An associate of mine who sales medicine to doctors (that’s how they do it to get doctors to prescribe it) told me, while talking about job security for himself, that his company along with some other companies donated 85 million dollars to the government so they would remove medicine from the bill. Medicine is the highest cost we have next to hospitalization.  I say when the bill is complete, send a copy to every school in the country to be read for all who want to come and listen. won’t cost near as much as the speech to the children. Then see how popular Mr. Obama and his bill are.

Citizen Palin had another brilliant response to this speech on her F a c e book account.  I love the fact that she can sit up there in Alaska with a keyboard and an internet connection and still make all these clowns shake in their boots.  lol
