The tanker facility was supposed to be at Brookley Field.
At the Gulf Pines Golf Course located on the Brookley Field campus, some folks told News Five that The Pentagon's decision is unfair and the Department of Defense was trying to take the easy way out.
They said Northrop Grumman won the contract fair and square and another delay is taking away from the real purpose for the tanker deal.
"The Air Force is out there flying planes that are way, way outdated. They need newer planes and politics are holding the whole process up and it's not fair," said Jim Matthews of Mobile.
The tanker deal would have created about 1500 jobs for the Mobile area.
