Some golfers are taking a swing at The Pentagon for its tanker decision delay.
The tanker facility was supposed to be at Brookley Field.
At the Gulf Pines Golf Course located on the Brookley Field campus, some folks told News Five that The Pentagon's decision is unfair and the Department of Defense was trying to take the easy way out.
They said Northrop Grumman won the contract fair and square and another delay is taking away from the real purpose for the tanker deal.
"The Air Force is out there flying planes that are way, way outdated. They need newer planes and politics are holding the whole process up and it's not fair," said Jim Matthews of Mobile.
The tanker deal would have created about 1500 jobs for the Mobile area.

The D.O.D is stalling until Boeing’s strike is over so they can buy a plane that is behind it’s release date. This is the only way Boeing can save face and make money on the 787

Once Again Boeing flexes its congressal muscle. It was reported earlier, Boeing did not have a plane to meet the Air Forces needs, with the revised requirements, they would need more time, NOW THEY HAVE IT!!!!

Boeing may be on strike, but that is only their work force, not their Engineers, or Management Staff.

As one politician said long ago,“THE GOVERNMENT WILL NEVER RUN OUT OF MONEY AS LONG AS THEY HAVE THE RIGHT TO TAX”, and I believe they all still currently believe this.

I do not believe the pentagon is playing politics on the tanker.according to thier last treasuries report,HR 4.1 there’s only $480 billion in reserves compared to $780 billion last year. The fed has recently used the TAF and the TSLF to bail out the financial markets instead of printing money and raising interest rates.Fannie Mae and Freddie mac are in the hundreds of billions not yet known,so in short the government does not have the FUNDS to build the tankers at the current time.
