Pediatrician Charged With Raping A Patient

Alabama Rape Bond has been set at $1 million for 63-year-old Michael Roy Sharpe. He's charged with raping a patient under the age of 16 and possession of child pornography.

ALBERTVILLE, Ala. (AP) - Bond has been set at $1 million for
63-year-old Michael Roy Sharpe, an Albertville pediatrician charged
with raping a patient under the age of 16.
The Marshall County Sheriff's Department says investigators
arrested the doctor Wednesday night in Birmingham. Charges against
Sharpe include second-degree rape, second-degree sodomy and
possession of child pornography.
He remained in the Marshall County jail on Thursday. It was not
immediately known if he had an attorney.
Sheriff's officials said Sharpe operated Child Life Pediatrics
on Alabama Highway 205 in Albertville.

i would have to take the conservative approach and see where the evidence takes us. it would seem awful funny for this guy all of a sudden to do this. more of the story will have to come in

I would have to understand more on the pornography charge before I could say guilty to that.After seeing that father and mother being charged a few years back for taking pictures of their kids taking baths,I would have to see that they were clearly sexually suggestive.The physical assault can easily be proved and by whom if it happened.It doesn’t look real good right now for the DOC and he’s gonna lose regardless of how his day in court comes out.Most likely the only winner in this case will be the defense Attorney for the DOC.

That’s kinda strange that he just now attacks a patient…you know, so close to retirement.

How did he end up alone with the kid anyway? Who leaves the exam room while the doctor is in there?

fram, he was caught with child porn, explain how that is a scam. I know people have lied before about rape, sexual assault, but how can you explain child porn? He is guilty

Don’t be too quick to put him in jail and through away the key. Dr Sharpe is entitled to a trail. It is possible that he is a victim of a scam. Always after these type of criminal cases there is a civil action for the money.
