Parish Murder Prompts Safety Measures

Alabama Murder The murder of 21-year-old Brianna Parish has prompted Daphne business owners to take extra safety measures.

The murder of 21-year-old Brianna Parish has prompted Daphne business owners to take extra safety measures. One restaurant and bar owner says since Parish's disappearance from outside the neighboring Bay House Pub, he's put additional lighting in his parking lot. Employees are also making sure customers get to their cars safely, especially female patrons. Another business owner says she's doing things differently from here on out, " I feel like we shouldn't be here alone or anything especially after hours, you know, at night walking to the parking lot alone, we'll definitely change the way we do business here," said Daphne hair salon owner, Renee Thompson. Brianna's father, Bruce Parish, is also asking young girls to be careful, "I would like to implore to all, especially young girls that go out at night, never, ever, ever go anywhere without a buddy no matter where it is," said Parish.

Most parents will always think of their children as “angels” and would never do anything wrong. But, your parents do not follow your every footstep and they may be surprised at things you have done. I know I would defend my child in saying he/she would never have done anything like that, but like I said, unless you have followed in their every footstep, you never know what someone might do in their lifetime. I’m not saying anyone is guilty or not guilty, but I know my parents do not know everything about me.

I want to start off by saying I have never been arrested or nearly arrested yet. That doesn’t mean I am an angel by no means. I learned one thing at an early age and that was to try and keep a spotless record in case you ever want to go into politics. WOW, was that not a misstatement. It should have been to try and keep a clean record in case you die mysteriously or get arrested for a crime. If you are young when this happens, more than likely your parents are still alive and your whole sorid past will come back to haunt your loved ones. If you just committed a crime then your past will probably be used against you or at least attempted.

Pretty sad that it takes such a tragic and uncalled for situation for people to realize they need to practice safety, and use what is normally known as COMMON SENSE !

I,understand that there’s always a use for caution, but come on people we don’t have a serial killer out there! I do agree parking lots should be lighted,and now during the holidays ,sure please be safe, watch your surroundings as always! It’s good bussiness’s are taking the extra steps,which they should. I know im gonna probaly get alot of comments on this one,dont get me wrong,BE SAFE!!!
