With the World Health Organization raising its pandemic alert level, the Red Cross is offering pandemic preparation kits to the public.

For $11.00 you can get a small individual kit filled with hand sanitizer, tissue, latex gloves and a mask. You could get the larger kit with the same materials for $14 dollars. "The Red Cross is recommending if a Pandemic does happen to have a two weeks supply of food, water, clothing, everything at your home," Said Elizabeth Saunders with the Gulf Coast Red Cross.

The kits are available online or you can call the Red Cross Alabama Gulf Coast Chapter at 251-438-2571 for more information.

n95 big deal. How does hand wash some gloves and a mask cost $11? Making money off this is a crime that the gov. said they would prosecute.

Seems to be a good little kit,but the mask would have to be able to block .3 micron particles or smaller to be effective against a virus, such as a MERV rating of 17 or higher on the filter mask.
