There was one final parade Tuesday night before Mobile pulled the curtain on this year's Mardi Gras celebration. The Order of Myths took to the streets of downtown Mobile for the last hurrah.
And many people were still standing after a long day.
Herb Blankenberg of Chickasaw watched the night parade.
He said he had been out since 8 am Tuesday.
Blankenberg said he wasn't tired, but mentioned, "I'm in mourning now because it (Mardi Gras) is over with."
Barbara Luce of Mobile said she was tired and she was going to go home after the Order of Myths, but her friend said she wanted to do dancing.
Of course, the longer you stay out, the more good stuff you can catch.
Hallie Van Lingen of Mobile said she caught so many beads and trinkets her brother had to carry a big bag of them.
Sara Hoicraft of Mobile said she, too, had been out all day and that her 12 week old baby was starting to get heavy.
Now, its time to rest, but not everybody is happy about that.
When asked what he was going to do now, Blankeberg said, "Sit home and be a couch potato."
If you're marking your calendar for next year already, Mardi Gras Day 2010 is February 16.
