FOLEY, Alabama - A Foley police officer is sent to the hospital after he is dragged by a truck following a traffic stop. Foley Police say Corporal Bobby Erwin pulled over Anthony Taylor of Bon Secour around 7:00 o'clock Friday night. Before the stop, police say Cpl. Erwin noticed Taylor throw an object out of the window, which later proved to be marijuana and Methadone. Foley Police say Taylor attempted to drive off, but his vehicle stalled. Cpl. Erwin then ran up to the vehicle and grabbed Taylor's shirt and fell as the truck drove away. Police say Taylor's 1-year-old son was also in the truck.Alabama State Troopers chased Taylor for several miles and eventually stopped him near the intersection of County Roads 10 and 49.
Anthony Taylor was arrested and transported to Baldwin County Corrections Center. He is being charged with drug possession, assault and resisting arrest. Cpl. Erwin was transported to South Baldwin Regional Medical Center where he is said to be ok. Taylor's son was released to a relative.
