Barry Simpson, 43, has a Facebook and a MySpace page, but it was in a Yahoo! chat room that investigators say his online networking crossed the line.

Simpson, an Economics professor at the University of South Alabama, was busted earlier this month in an undercover online sting involving an FBI agent who posed as a teenage girl.

According to the arrest affidavit, Simpson exchanged multiple messages with the undercover agent from a computer on the USA campus. The affidavit says Simpson sent "two pictures of his erect penis," and then told the agent "I didn't put my face in there because I didn't want to get in trouble."

Angela Tobon, an FBI spokesperson, says when the undercover agent identified himself as a 13 year old girl Simpson replied by saying "okay", and then attempted to set up a meeting with the teen.

During a chat on October 27, Simpson allegedly told the undercover agent he also shared nude photos with a 15 year old girl from Georgia, and forwarded the agent a picture of the girl lifting up her shirt and exposing her breasts.

Simpson used the screen name "going_Mobile2003" and called himself "Sam Jones."

Investigators seized evidence from Simpson's office in the Mitchell College of Business during a search warrant on November 17th, according to Tobon.

University officials did not return News Five's calls today, but according to an Associated Press report, the professor has been suspended with pay.

The case is in the United States District Court of Southern Florida because the FBI agent was in Miami at the time the pictures were sent.

oh for sure they do.  you would think with so much tech. now days some could have been idenitified by now. its really sad.  now that i know i will pass the baby’s picture on. someone has to know why this child is.

You need to copy and paste the entire link, not just click on it. I don’t know why it didn’t all come out linked.

Yes, that is the child. She is buried in Jackson County, adopted by residents there. She is the reason I went from Allied Health to study forensics and law enforcement. Don’t those websites have way too many people who have just disappeared or appeared with no history of anyone missing them?

is this the baby you are talking about southfan?
