BREAKING NEWS News 5 has learned Marcus Schrenker downed a punch of pills containing acetaminophen to this his blood before his failed suicide attempt. Doctors have now decided they want to keep Schrenker at a Tallahassee hospital for observation through the weekend.
Schrenker, who is accused of trying to fake is own death, was originally supposed to be released Thursday until he suffered a medical set back.
When he is finally released early next week, Schrenker will be transported to Pensacola for a court appearance on federal charges of intentionally crashing his plane and making a phony distress call.
Schrenker's plane crashed in Milton Sunday night, but he wasn't inside. Police say Schrenker abandoned the plane over north Alabama in an attempt to fake his own death and escape financial ruin and divorce.
Schrenker was captured Tuesday night at a campground in Quincy, Florida. He was "near death" after taking a bunch of pills and slitting his wrists.
