Police say William Wood of Semmes, who was recently released from prison, shot his estranged wife 34-year-old Melonie Wood, her boyfriend, 20-year-old James Tucker and Tucker's grandparents, 70-year-old Jesse Warrick Jr. and 67-year-old Louise Warrick, with a high-powered rifle at their home on Highway 98.
Melonie Wood survived the attack. She's listed in stable condition at a local hospital.
William Wood was killed Sunday afternoon during a high speed chase and shootout with Mobile County Deputies on I-10.
Police have not released a motive for the murders, but Wood's son was killed March 9th in a tragic accident. Four year old Austin Wood's skateboard rolled out onto Highway 98. He ran after it and was hit by a pick-up truck.
