Mobile law enforcement have had their hands full with homicides this year.Investigators including Mobile Police and the Sheriff's Office have dealt with over 50 homicides in 2008. Nine of those cases haven't been solved.
The Police Departments most recent homicide happened on Christmas Eve. That's when 18 year old Jason Milne was gunned down on Alba Club Road in South Mobile. It's the only homicide police haven't solved this year.
The Mobile County Sheriff's Office says some homicide cases can take days to decades to solve because people with information refuse to come forward.
"Every now and then somebody will give you a little drop of information but then they say oh but I don't want to be involved. You have to follow it through that person then has to come to court and become a witness and it's a long drawn out thing,"Said Lori Myles with the Mobile County Sheriff's Office.
Donations are being accepted at Compass Bank to help Jason Milne's family pay for his funeral.
The account is under Jenny Smith in benefit of Jason Everette Milne.
