MOBILE, Ala. (AP) - A Mobile County grand jury has indicted a
20-year-old man on murder charges that accuse him of driving at 100
mph when he bumped another car off the road, causing a crash that
killed three people.
Michael Andrew Loper was indicted for the deaths of 18-year-old
Mary Allyson Baker of Mobile, and two Irvington brothers,
17-year-old Brian Matthew "Matt" Willis Jr. and 11-year-old
Brandon Christopher Willis.
They were fatally injured along U.S. 45 in north Mobile County
on Jan. 9. Police said Loper was chasing another car at the time,
and that all three groups had gathered earlier in the Citronelle
High School parking lot.
He was also indicted on a charge of leaving the scene of an
accident with injuries.

I agree there should be equal punishment between the two cases. I can’t even began to imagine the pain these family members are going through…its horrific and they should do time for these irresponsible crimes..He’s 20, he knew the consequences of what he did…if not he will surely have plenty of time to sit and think about it..Many prayers to the families here!

There was no equity involved she should be in prison, she was as guilty of murder as is this young man. She was able to stomp her foot and make it “go away”. Here are five lives gone forever because of the irresponsibility of a young person or persons in this case. I can’t imagine the grief their parents are enduring everyday. My thought and prayers are with them, not the guilty parties.

She got probation for five years, lost her license and some community service.

Two children lost their lives and their families lost their hopes and dreams.

Last I heard, “I didn’t mean to” was not a valid excuse.

This was a tragedy for all involved I believe.I find it hard to believe he,Michael Loper, would do this on purpose and I can only guess he must have gotten scared after the accident and decided to run.None of the choices he made were very good and young people around this age are not generally known for making good decisions. Now three young lives have been taken and another ruined for life most likely. It’s really sad to see this.Again Heart felt Condolences to all the families.

i wonder as well south fan. what did that girl get for killing her friends racing anpther car?

Will we see equity in sentencing for similar crimes? I wonder what he would get if he were 5’4 and a blonde female?

Amen colby…amen!!!

this man is guilty no matter what.. matt was a good friend of mine.. i cant believe anyone would feel sorry for this MAN.. matt was 17 years old.. this guy was 20. No one deserves what matt got.. or his girlfriend or little brother. Matt wasn’t a violent guy.. he got along with everyone. Sure he’d fight for his friends, family, or girlfriend.. but what 17 year old wouldn’t? I got to go to his funeral and watch so many people of all ages cry over his casket.. including some of my very close friends. He was such a good guy and he didn’t deserve this. RIP BRIAN MATTHEW WILLIS, BRANDON CHRISTOPHER WILLIS, && MARY ALLYSON BAKER.

Was he chasing them or were they racing? This is horrible. My condolences to all families involved.

they had witnesses so we know he is guilty.
