Release from Mobile Police Department
On June 2, 2009 at approximately 11:30 PM Mobile Police received a report that an officer had been shot at the Tyler Ridge Apartments located at 7700 block of Thomas Road. Upon officers arrival they discovered Mobile Police Officer Brandon Sigler with an apparent gunshot wound. Sigler was transported to Providence Hospital were he was later pronounced deceased. Approximately thirty minutes following the incident at the apartments, patrol officers received information of a possible vehicle description and observed a vehicle matching that description in the area of McFarland Road. Officers attempted to stop the vehicle and following a short pursuit, the driver would eventually wreck the vehicle at McFarland Road and Dawes Road. A male was taken into custody and a female in the vehicle sustained minor injuries. The female was transported to USA Medical Center by Life Flight. A Third possible suspect was identified and apprehended in the area of Hamilton Creek.

Detectives responded to the scene to begin the investigation. Investigators have been able to determine that Officer Sigler was not on duty at the time of the incident and he is the courtesy officer at the apartments. Investigators determined Officer Sigler was addressing a disorderly incident in the parking lot of the complex when the incident occurred. Two subjects were transported to Mobile Police Headquarters to be interviewed by detectives, and the female will be interviewed following release from the hospital. This will be an ongoing investigation and information will be provided as soon as it is available.

Well, he got you fooled. He’s pure evil now. And read your Bible-bad people DO go to hell.So do agnostics and atheists-of which he admits to being. Might want to get your life right.

His brother is 90% of the problem? That’s so kindergarten! “He MADE me do it, whaa, whaa.” He is an adult. He can and DID make his own decisions-unless of course you are saying his brother held a gun to his head and said go shoot that off-duty cop, and then “pretend,” you didn’t know and that you are sorry. IS that what you are saying Feeney? At least we know your name-we’ll look for you on the rolls at Metro. Matter of time.

Poor delusional Feeney. Are drugs messing with your head too? Who forced him to do drugs? Who forced him to carry a stolen gun? Who forced him to have a previous record-ummm-MULTIPLE run-ins with the law? Who forced him to point blank kill an UNARMED man? (remember the gun was in his holster, not his hand) Remember by scum bags admission, the fight was “earlier,” and he went over to “protect” his girlfriend from a she-dog fight. Remember, he admits the guy told them to leave. HOW WAS THAT OMINOUS? It is a known FACT in apartment complexes that have courtesy cops, that they are there for security. The officers patrol car would have been in the parking lot. I think he KNEW EXACTLY what he was doing. I think HE HAD EVERY INTENT TO SHOOT SOMEONE-otherwise, why carry a gun to a she-dog fight? Why didn’t he just get his girlfriend and leave? Your defense is as weak as he is. I’m not sure who is more pathetic, him, or the people who defend him and continue to admire him. Sad, sorry, trash.

And Dougstech, Yes. His brother is filth. Filth and retardation. He is a moronic excuse for a human being and is 90% the reason Joey was ever in this situation.

rmseek1234. I Hope you burn in that He-ll you probably think all bad people go to. Because you definitely deserve it more than he does. I’ve known Joey my whole life. And yeah, his brother got him in with the wrong crowd. He used to be quite intelligent, funny, clever, but he got in wit hsome stupid people and started being stupid. But no matter how stupid he was, he was NEVER evil. He would never do something like this in his normal state of mind. He is a good person. And you dont understand how people can say he was a good guy because you never knew him, and all you see is this. Its bad luck on all ends. He shouldnt have been carrying a gun around acting like a badass, and he never shouldve shot the guy. But in all reality he saw a, shall we say “ominous”, guy with a gun and no badge at night in an apartment complex, he probably assumed it was a relative of one of the girls his gf got in a fight with and freaked. Stupid move. Extremely STUPID….but NOT EVIL.

First of all, if you think for a second that a police officer or a fireman stops being who he/she chose to be just because he/she is “off duty,” you are so mistaken.  Being a daughter of a retired fireman, and having a huge extended family of firemen and police officers, I have seen a great deal of pride and honor.  These men and women fight every second to serve and protect.  I have seen first hand the dedication that these men and women possess.  I watched my own father run into a neighbor’s burning home and rescue a family of five before the responding unit even got a chance to respond.  I was so angry but so very proud at the same time. People on the outside have no idea what loved ones go through.  Words can’t describe it.  Everyone needs to stop the bickering and appreciate those that are there for you - 24/7.

Second, that punk killed someone w/a stolen gun.  He’s not even old enough to carry a pistol!  He would have killed anyone!

Why do people call someone like this guy a good person? He is a murderer. He has admitted that but still some call him a good person. Where do they get this mindset. People that think a murderer is a good person scare me. Do I have a right to go around shooting them since they scare me?

I wondered the same thing Great1. This boy is a flaming liar, acting a part to try to get sympathy and make himself look innocent. I don’t buy it, and I hope he likes to dance (in the electric chair) as much as he likes to sing. After seeing his and his brothers myspace pages-makes me wonder if any of this was gang related.

His story is weak, just like him. He appears to have been a ticking time bomb. If any good can come of this, I would hope that his “friends” do a major re-evaluation of their lives, and get on the right track. Running with folks like this leads to no good-you have a guarenteed ticket to jail or death.

His MySpace page says he is agnostic. Why would he want someone to pray for him!

Maybe they’ll video tape him frying in the chair too! Now that’s one I’d pay to watch. If you also noticed-both their myspace pages are very heavily “gangster.” Look at their friends and all the gang signs and talk. Just speculation here, but I wonder if these fights were gang related, or if him shooting an officer in cold blood was gang related. I FULLY believe he knew what he was doing when he went with a stolen gun. His story is a joke. Even my 5 year old could tell a better fairy tale than that. He walked up on a “fight,” that according to another story had already been broken up, and point blank shot an officer who had a holstered gun. It doesn’t matter whether the officer identified himself to this creep or not, the situation was already RESOLVED(with the concerned parties who probably DID know Sigler was a cop)-but he comes in, guns blaring-literally. I don’t buy his story, and I don’t buy his apology.
